Businessman Param Joseph opened Jus’ Jazzin’ in Shearer Road some 10 years ago; a combination of restaurant, cigar lounge and jazz club featuring live music on a regular basis.
With a number of budding stars emerging from the various music departments as well as some well established professionals, Jus’ Jazzin’ initially gained a reputation as a dedicated jazz venue.

But public pressure pushed the venue to diversify in order to survive and the decisions to host DJs and move into the commercial zone cost Jus’ Jazzin’ it’s dedicated jazz loving clientele. The club closed down after six years.
But the idea had taken hold and Joseph and his partners finally found what they were looking for: an up-market venue in the heart of a well-heeled residential and retail area. Foxy’s, on the corner of Umhlanga Rocks Drive and Northway, became available, and Param and his team have transformed this venue into the new Jus’ Jazzin’.
Plentiful parking, a safe location with sprawling premises, Jus’ Jazzin’ restaurant and Jazz Lounge was opened by Mayor Obed Mlaba on the 30 July 2009.
With live music planned for most days of the week, Jus’ Jazzin’ opens at a time when regular venue gigs are in short supply for the plethora of musicians eager to gain experience and earn money on the circuit. Add Chef,
Balan Govender, ex-Seabelle, and it looks like the affluent north-coasters finally have a place to wine, dine and jive.
Look out for bands such as The New Savoys and Afritude.
Jus’ Jazzin’ is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
